FantasyDraft MLB: Wednesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft MLB series.

PITCHER

Carlos Carrasco, CLE at SF ($26,100): Carrasco hasn't pitched like an elite pitcher recently, allowing at least five runs in two of his past four starts, but he has been racking up strikeouts at a high rate, which makes him a good option on this slate. Meanwhile, the Giants have the lowest wOBA against righties this season, though they don't strikeout at a high rate.

Gio Gonzalez, WAS at LAA ($20,700): Gonzalez enters with a 2.66 ERA, but he's been particularly sharp over his past four outings, allowing just five runs over 27.1 innings while striking out 29. On the other side, the Angels enter with the fourth-lowest wOBA against lefties this season.

INFIELD

Nolan Arenado, COL vs. SD ($10,800): The Rockies lineup has been on fire since the All-Star break and Arenado is one reason why. He gets a great matchup against lefty Clayton Richard, who has a 4.75 ERA after allowing at least four runs in three of his past four starts. Arenado enters with a .518 wOBA against lefties this season, which is fourth-best in the majors.

Salvador Perez, KC vs. DET ($7,200): Batter vs. pitcher numbers aren't often reliable because of the sample size and the timing of those numbers, but in this case, it's hard to ignore. Perez is 24-for-58 lifetime against Justin Verlander (.411 batting average), and when you consider that a large portion of those at-bats came when Verlander was elite, it makes Perez look even better.

Jean Segura, SEA at HOU ($8,400):Charlie Morton takes the mound for the Astros, and though his ERA of 4.03 isn't terrible, he has allowed at least four runs in three of his past four starts. Meanwhile, Segura leads the Mariners with a .374 wOBA against righties this season.

OUTFIELD

David Peralta, AZ at CIN ($8,800): Reds starter Tim Adleman, who has six straight games without a quality start, enters with a 4.99 ERA, and while there are many Diamondbacks capable of getting to him, Peralta comes in with a solid .362 wOBA against righties this season.

Andrew McCutchen, PIT vs. MIL ($9,200): McCutchen has been on fire over the past month, and he should have a lot of success against Brewers starter Zach Davies, who has a 5.08 ERA after allowing at least four runs in four of his past six starts. Meanwhile, McCutchen has a team-high .353 wOBA against righties this year.

Jose Ramirez, CLE at SF ($8,800): The Indians haven't looked that great at the plate in their series against the Giants, but with Matt Cain on the mound, that could change. Cain comes in with a 5.56 ERA, allowing five or more runs in two of his past three starts. Ramirez enters with a .422 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Indians and is top-10 in the majors.

UTILITY

Justin Turner, LAD at CHW ($8,800): When facing a righty, there are about seven guys in play from the Dodgers, but against lefties, that number shrinks considerably. One of the guys who can be selected against lefties is Turner, who has a .550 wOBA against them this year. Southpaw Carlos Rodon takes the hill for the White Sox, and he's coming off a start when he allowed six runs in 5.1 innings.

Adrian Beltre, TEX at BAL ($8,100): It's Kevin Gausman's turn for the Orioles, and if this start goes like his previous two, a Rangers stack is in play. Gausman comes in with a 6.39 ERA, and though he had consecutive starts without allowing a run just a couple weeks ago, he's regressed to the guy we've seen most of the season. The Rangers are better against lefties as a whole, but Beltre is one guy who takes advantage of righties, posting a .374 wOBA against them this year.
