Pitcher
Zach Davies, MIL at MIA ($8,400): Due to a meager 15.9 percent strikeout rate, Davies doesn't have nearly the upside as those priced above him, and he'll need to record outs to flirt with their potential. But his current form makes for a nice, stable option for cash games, as he has not allowed more than two runs in six straight starts, and in eight of his last 11. He has a 2.04 road ERA against 5.67 at home; the trends suggest this is a solid play. For those feeling a bit frisky in need of a tournament gamble, I'd take a peek at Philadelphia's Ben Lively ($6,900).
Catcher
Buster Posey, SFG vs ARI ($2,800): Posey's price typically hovers around $1,000 higher than this, so it seems prudent to buy in on the discount and simply move on without regard to the matchup against Zack Greinke. Posey is 12-of-42 (.286) in his career against Greinke, which is a large enough sample size to consider, and while it likely justifies his price as a low-upside buy, there's at least some stability others in the lower tier price can't offer.
First Base
Justin Smoak, TOR at MIN ($2,800): Smoak is limping to the finish, going just 9-for-45 in September entering Friday, but he's had much greater upside against lefties than righties this year, posting a .443 wOBA, 180 wRC+ and 1.057 OPS compared to .364/126/.872 against southpaws. That suggests a slump-breaking performance is possible against Adalberto Mejia, who has a 5.40 home ERA, where he allows a .367 wOBA to righties, the highest of his four possible scenarios.
Second Base
DJ LeMahieu, COL vs. SDP ($4,200): It seems to be an obscene price to pay at a non-premium position, but the play here is a safe buy in on a game that has a total of 12.5 runs. Five Rockies' bats check in at $4,000 or greater, making it tough to get multiple Colorado players in your lineup, so I'll side with the safer LeMahieu. He has a .459 wOBA, 171wRC+ and 1.085 OPS at home against righties, while Padres starter Jordan Lyles has an 8.03 road ERA, allowing righties to post a .393 wOBA.
Third Base
Asdrubal Cabrera, NYM at ATL ($3,600):R.A. Dickey's knuckleball is doing more floating than dancing of late, as he's allowed at least four runs in four of his last five starts, and 20 in 29.1 innings during that stretch. Head-to-head stats matter significantly more against the knuckler, and Cabrera is 7-of-23 (.304) with three homers, seven RBI and four walks in his career against Dickey.
Shortstop
Yangervis Solarte, SDP at COL ($3,500): Saturday's main slate only has seven games, making the pickings a bit slimmer than usual. This contest at Coors Field features the two of the three cheapest pitchers, leading to severely inflated price tags on bats. Solarte has a .348 wOBA and 117 wRC+ on the road against righties, while Rockies starter Tyler Anderson is surrendering a .417 wOBA to opposite-handed hitters at home.
Outfield
Nomar Mazara, TEX at LAA ($3,600): The play here seems to be more against Angels' starter Parker Bidwell, who has a 4.59 home ERA against a 3.20 road tally, and he's been much more vulnerable to lefties, allowing a .358 wOBA. Mazara has been much better at home than on the road, but still has 94 RBI and a .344 wOBA against righties, seemingly making him the right buy in the Rangers offense Saturday.
Aaron Altherr, PHI vs. OAK ($3,400): Altherr trails only Rhys Hoskins and the injured Daniel Nava among Phillies against righties, posting a .379 wOBA and 133 wRC+, and his price seems a bit deflated due to the fact he's just 3-of-17 entering Friday since returning from the DL. Those struggles go by the wayside against Kendall Graveman, however, who has a 6.75 road ERA (against 2.98 at home) while allowing same-handed bats to post a .416 wOBA against him.
Byron Buxton, MIN vs. TOR ($3,200): Buxton has hit safely in five straight entering Friday, and has a .364 wOBA, 124 wRC+ and .278 ISO against same-handed arms since Aug. 1. Blue Jays' starter Marco Estrada has a 5.18 road ERA, allowing a .348 wOBA to righties.
