Brown is continuing a holdout he started during the offseason program and leaves Houston preparing for the possibility of opening the season without its starting left tackle. He’s looking for a contract re-do while the team’s position is that Brown is under contract for another two seasons. This holdout could play out into the season – Brown will pay the fines and miss the game checks – and he could return for the second half of the season without losing his future free-agency status after the 2018 season. In the meantime, Chris Clark is expected to start at left tackle while Brown remains out.
