Yahoo DFS Hockey: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

You probably need a break after the election. Here are three NHL games, and some daily fantasy picks, to try and help with that.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM vs. ANA ($32): Every goalie, save for Corey Crawford, will cost you between $32 and $30. As such, you might as well go for the best one, and that's Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky has a .947 save percentage, and Columbus has a good chance of picking up a home win against the Ducks.

GOALIE TO AVOID

Jake Allen, STL vs. CHI ($32): Allen has a .903 save percentage and the Blackhawks have won six in a row and have a great offense. It seems strange that Allen comes in at this price given all that.

CENTER

Artem Anisimov, CHI at STL ($21): We've already mentioned Allen's save percentage and Chicago's potent offense. Anisimov is helping to lead that offense with 17 points. His shooting percentage is a little high, but Anisimov is off to a great start, and this is a good matchup.

CENTER TO AVOID

Paul Stastny, STL vs. CHI ($20): Stastny got off to a hot start, but he's only scored two points in his last seven games, and they both came against the Dallas Stars. Corey Crawford got off to a slow start but has brought his save percentage up to .936 save percentage this season. These two factors make Stastny seem unlikely to be

Corey Crawford got off to a slow start but has brought his save percentage up to .936 save percentage this season. These two factors make Stastny seem unlikely to be worth his price Wednesday.

WING

Kyle Okposo, BUF vs. OTT ($22): Buffalo's offense has struggled this season, but Okposo has managed to score five goals and eight points in 11 games. The Senators will be on the second night of a back-to-back and will likely be starting Mike Condon in goal. Condon had a .903 save percentage in his one full NHL season, so it seems like this could be a chance for the Sabres to work out the kinks in their offense.

Brandon Saad, CLM vs. ANA ($20): Saad seems to be finding his footing, as he's notched seven of his 10 points in his last six games. He's also taken 26 shots in 10 games, and he took 233 in 78 last season. Anaheim's John Gibson has been decent this season (.914 save percentage), but that shouldn't be enough to keep you from choosing Saad.

WINGS TO AVOID

Mark Stone, OTT vs. BUF ($20): While Buffalo's offense has struggled, their goal prevention has been fine, and Robin Lehner has a .925 save percentage this season. Stone has been a 20-goal scorer in his career, but he's only scored one goal this season, and his minutes are down as well. That does not bode well for him in this matchup.

Corey Perry, ANA at CLM ($25): Perry has to go up against the red-hot Bobrovsky, and he's one of the most expensive wings. With a price that high, it can be hard for a player to provide value, and so if you want to try and find real value, you may want to look elsewhere.

DEFENSEMEN

Kevin Shattenkirk, STL vs. CHI ($20): While Crawford's numbers for the Blackhawks are great (.936 save percentage), the team still has the NHL's worst penalty kill. Shattenkirk averages almost four minutes per game on the power play and has six points with the extra man, which makes for a potentially winning combination.

Brent Seabrook, CHI at STL ($19): St. Louis may not be as bad on the penalty kill as Chicago is, but Seabrook is still playing 4:20 per game with the extra man. Seabrook only has one goal, but he has eight assists and 15 blocks. A game like this looks like it will be high scoring with a lot of offensive chances, so he should have a decent shot at getting on the scoresheet.

DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID

Sami Vatanen, ANA at CLM ($19): Vatanen only has one goal this season, and he's only taken one shot on goal in his last four games. While he's playing a lot of minutes, including on the power play, it's not making much of a fantasy impact. There are better players available at the same price or cheaper, including some with better matchups.

David Savard, CLM vs. ANA ($15): Savard isn't expensive at $15, but he's only got three points with nine shots on goal and doesn't see much power-play time. Plus, the matchup against the Ducks isn't the greatest, so he's probably best left on the board Wednesday.
