Headed to Netherlands-based promotion

February 7, 2022
Breese has signed with the Netherlands-based Levels Fight League and will compete in the main event for the promotion March 13, Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Breese had put together a 5-3 record with the company, though he had been coming off a second-round submission loss to Omari Akhmedov in January of 2021. He ultimately elected to hit free agency and sign elsewhere and will continue to fight at middleweight in his new, overseas endeavor.

Pulls out of fight vs. Arroyo
MiddleweightPFL
June 5, 2021
Breese has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Antonio Arroyo for undisclosed reasons, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not entirely clear why Breese has decided to pull out of the scheduled bout at the last second, but it's worth noting that he's backed out of fights at the last minute before because of anxiety issues.
Booked against Arroyo for June
MiddleweightPFL
April 15, 2021
Breese (12-3-0) will fight Antonio Arroyo (9-4-0) at a UFC event on June 15, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Breese has dropped two of his last three fights since January of 2019 and will look to turn things around after losing his most recent bout earlier in the year to Omari Akhmedov via submission (arm-triangle choke) in Round 2. Breese has a bit more experience in his professional career than Arroyo but otherwise, this should make out to be a pretty even matchup with both fighters lining up at the same height and reach.
Drops back-and-forth affair
MiddleweightPFL
January 20, 2021
Breese lost to Omari Akhmedov via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 1:41 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Island 8 on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Breese was able to foresee an early takedown attempt from Akhmedov that allowed him to sink in a guillotine, but his opponent eventually escaped and ended up on top. Akhmedov started to pour on the ground-and-pound and Breese ate several heavy shots, offering little in terms of resistance. Breese was eventually able to get up and initiate another scramble, threatening with a heel hook before taking the back of a tired Akhmedov. Akhmedov survived, but Breese finished Round 1 with the momentum. Breese kept the creative submissions coming and opened the round with a calf slicer attempt, but Akhmedov escaped and ended up on top, where he sunk in a deep arm-triangle choke. Breese has now alternated wins and losses in his last six UFC fights.
Fight moved back four days
MiddleweightPFL
January 12, 2021
Breese's scheduled fight against Omari Akhmedov was pushed back to Jan. 20.
ANALYSIS
The pair had initially been set to square off on Saturday but will now do so four days later than originally planned. A reason for the change was not provided.
Fight with Akhmedov set for January

December 7, 2020
Breese (leg) agreed Monday to face Omari Akhmedov (20-5-1) in a middleweight fight at the UFC's Jan. 16 event, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Breese (12-2-0) returns to the Octagon for the first time since Oct. 10, when he soundly defeated K.B. Bhullar via TKO in Abu Dhabi. The 29-year-old Englishman came out of the bout with a left leg injury, but his inclusion on the Jan. 16 card implies that he's gained full medical clearance at this point. "The Octopus" owns a 5-2 record since joining the UFC in 2015.
