Chad Girodo

Girodo had a bumpy -- yet extraordinary -- journey en route to his MLB debut last April. He bounced around from the minors to the majors in 2016, ultimately finishing with a 4.35 ERA in limited action for the Jays. The southpaw fared better at Triple-A Buffalo (3.79 ERA over 35.2 innings), but was tagged for a brutal .321 BAA on his way to a career-worst 1.63 WHIP. It was a down year for Girodo, who pitched well in the two previous campaigns, including going a combined 4-2 in 2015 with a 1.34 ERA in 60.1 innings at three minor-league levels. With a devastating slider and funky arm angle, he can be very deceptive. Not to mention he's a lefty, something the Jays' bullpen will be in need of for the 2017 season. However, his chances of making an impact at the major league level took a hit in February when he was designated for assignment, leaving his value in fantasy formats close to nothing.
