The former second-round pick will provide depth on the defensive line. He finished with just 12 combined tackles in 13 games last season after notching 37 in 16 games as a rookie.
Branch will provide depth at defensive end.
Branch will eventually be expected to fill one of the team's biggest needs at a position they've had little success drafting in recent years (Derrick Harvey, Quentin Groves, anyone?) While Branch is unlikely to take on an every-down role in his rookie season, he notched ACC-leading 10.5 sacks and 17 TOL in 2011 and could ultimately displace Austen Lane along the line.
