Desir (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Bills, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Buccaneers' cornerback corps is slowly returning to full strength, which has caused Desir to find himself as the odd man out. Through nine appearances this season, the 30-year-old has recorded 22 tackles, three pass deflections, two interceptions and one forced fumble.

Desir was cut after nine games with the Jets last season in which he struggled in coverage, giving up a 116.6 passer rating when targeted. The soon-to-be 31-year-old had a better track record with the Colts before his stint in New York, and perhaps the change of scenery will help Desir rediscover his potential. There's upside if he's able to do so, as Seattle figures to hold open tryouts for the starting left cornerback job after Shaquill Griffin left in free agency.
Desir was a low-risk, high-reward offseason signing for the Jets after being cut by the Colts following a three-interception campaign in 2019. The veteran cornerback will compete for a starting spot in a secondary that lacks experienced alternatives on the outside.
Desir blossomed into a stout coverage corner in his fifth professional season and second with the Colts, ultimately receiving a three-year, $25 million contract extension this past offseason. After Piling up 79 tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception in 2018, Desir could be an intriguing IDP candidate this coming season.
Desir was a pleasant surprise for the Colts last season and should assume an expanded role in 2018 following the departures of incumbent starters Vontae Davis (Bills) and Rashaan Melvin (Raiders). With the expectation that he'll recover fully from the torn pectoral that ended his 2017 campaign after nine games, Desir is a great bet to improve upon the 32 tackles and seven pass breakups he totaled last year.
Desir played five games last year with the Chargers before being cut midseason. The Seahawks likely will keep five cornerbacks, and Desir likely won't be one. Neiko Thorpe and DeAndre Elliott figured to have a clearer path to the last cornerback job.
Desir finished the 2014 campaign strong but struggled when forced into playing time after Joe Haden went down in 2015. With Haden and Tramon Williams locked into the team's top spots on the outside, and K'Waun Williams the one to come in during nickel packages, Desir enters the 2016 season firmly as a depth option at cornerback.
Desir will look to lock down one of the final backup cornerback spots in 2015 after failing to make much of an impact in his rookie campaign a year ago.
Desir will compete for a reserve cornerback role with the Browns in 2014. He'll likely serve mostly as a special teams player out of the gates, but if Joe Haden, Justin Gilbert or Buster Skrine have to miss time at any point, the 6-foot-1 rookie would be one of the next options in line to see the field.
