FantasyDraft NHL: Wednesday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Wednesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

It's both the midpoint of the week and the midpoint of the month, but don't let that get you down. There are still three NHL games on the slate, so you can play daily fantasy hockey. Here are some players to target for your lineup to get you through this hump day to end all hump days.

GOALIE

Boston Bruins, BOS at ANA ($15,100):Tuukka Rask may have a 2.79 GAA and a .901 save percentage, but over a full season he's never had a GAA worse than 2.67 or a save percentage worse than .915. His numbers are going to get better. The Ducks, meanwhile, are missing their top two centers and have scored 2.76 goals per game. The Bruins are the cheapest goalie option, and it's worth betting on Rask figuring it out.

CENTER

Sean Monahan, CGY at DET ($14,000): Monahan has started 66.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, third most on the Flames (and most of any Flame that has played a full season). He's also played 3:30 per game on the power play, and he's had at least 17 power-play points in his last three seasons. Monahan has put 48 shots on goal in 17 games, and the Wings have given up 33.9 shots on net per contest.

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. CGY ($10,800): Larkin has 13 assists through 18 games, and though he only has two goals, that's thanks to 4.3 percent shooting. That's an unusually low number, and it will surely improve as the year goes on. Mike Smith is banged up right now, which could mean Eddie Lack in net. He hasn't had a save percentage greater than .902 in his last two seasons, which would bode well for Larkin.

WING

Jakob Silfverberg, ANA vs. BOS ($12,200): The Ducks are being hindered by injuries, but that isn't keeping Silfvergberg down. He has nine points through 17 games, but more notably he has put a whopping 60 shots on net in that time. He had 227 in 79 games last year, so we know he knows how to put the puck on the net. Also, with the aforementioned injuries, Silfverberg is finally playing with the extra man. He's notched 2:40 per game in power-play time.

Anthony Mantha, DET vs. CGY ($10,900): Mantha has tallied eight goals and eight assists through 18 games, and five of those points have come on the power play. That's worth noting, because the Flames have the 29th-ranked penalty kill. Bear in mind that's with Smith usually in net, and playing unusually well. If Lack is in net instead, the matchup looks even better for Mantha.

Alex DeBrincat, CHI vs. NYR ($7,600): The diminutive rookie has been on fire recently, as he has five goals, two assists, and 18 shots on goal in his last seven contests. He's also been given a bit of power-play time, as he's averaged 2:09 per game with the extra man. It has already been announced that Henrik Lundqvist will be starting, and he has a 2.92 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Perhaps DeBrincat's hot streak can continue in this one.

DEFENSE

Torey Krug, BOS at ANA ($11,100): Krug is in the middle of a seven-game scoring streak in which he's tallied nine points. He's also played a ton on the power play, as he's averaged 4:23 per game with the extra man. The banged-up Ducks have given up 34.5 shots on net per tilt, and they have a team GAA of 2.88.

Mike Green, DET vs. CGY ($7,700): Green has slowed down a bit after a hot start, but he does have three points in his last five games, and 14 points overall. He also has six points on the power play, and as mentioned the Flames have the 29th-ranked penalty kill. Green has started 62.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second most on the Red Wings, and that's certainly favorable from a fantasy perspective.
