FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Picks

FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

The NBA is on its All-Star break, which means if you want to watch some games that count the NHL is your best bet. There are seven games Saturday night, and here are some recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Nashville Predators, NAS vs. DET ($17,300): The Predators have a 2.54 GAA, third best in the NHL. They also have a league-leading .921 save percentage. Detroit, meanwhile, has only scored 2.61 goals per game. Nashville also is 19-6-3 at home.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS vs. DET ($11,400): Johansen has 10 points in his last 11 games, including two of his seven goals. He's also averaged 3:11 per game on the power play, notching 12 points with the extra man. Detroit's penalty kill is ranked 26th in the NHL, and since the All-Star break it ranks 29th.

Brayden Point, TAM vs. NJD ($11,300): Point has an assist in each of his last three games, giving him 49 points in 58 contests. Cory Schneider is still banged up, so it's likely that Keith Kinkaid will be in net for the Devils. Kinkaid has a 3.24 GAA and a .893 save percentage, which bodes well for Point and company.

WING

David Perron, VGK vs. MON ($12,400): Perhaps under the radar, Perron averages more than a point per game. He's tallied 53 points through 51 contests. The veteran wing also has 14 power-play points, and the Canadiens have the 25th-ranked penalty kill. On top of that, Montreal has a 3.41 road GAA, bottom five in the NHL.

Matthew Tkachuk, CGY vs. FLA ($10,500): Tkachuk is starting to show the goal-scoring skill his dad once did, as he has 21 goals in 56 games. That includes four goals in his last four contests. Roberto Luongo will be in net for the Panthers, but it will be his first game since Dec. 4. How will he perform on the road behind a defense that has allowed 34.7 shots per game.

Alex DeBrincat, CHI vs. WAS ($8,700): DeBrincat has put 46 shots on goal in his last 12 games and seven of his 21 goals have come in that time. The Capitals have a 3.44 GAA on the road and have allowed 34.2 shots per game on the road. Washington also has the 20th-ranked penalty kill on the road, and DeBrincat has five goals and five assists on the power play.

DEFENSEMEN

Torey Krug, BOS at VAN ($12,100): Krug has been on absolute fire recently, notching 14 points in his last 13 games. He's averaged 3:19 per game on the power play as well, tallying 12 points with the extra man through 51 contests. The Canucks have a 3.19 team GAA and also the 23rd-ranked penalty kill.

Olli Maatta, PIT vs. TOR ($7,100): Maatta has put 123 shots on net through 59 games, which is a solid number for a defenseman. Although he only has three goals, he's tallied 17 assists. The Maple Leafs have given up 34.1 shots on goal per game, so Maatta could put a few pucks on net. At this price, Maatta has the potential to pay off well.
