FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

GOALIE

St. Louis Blues, STL vs. SAN ($16,000): The Blues have a 2.48 team GAA at home while allowing only 29.1 shots on net per contest. However, Carter Hutton has a 1.81 GAA and a .940 save percentage, so St. Louis has been even better when he's been in net. The Sharks have only scored 2.63 goals per game on the road, so they might not threaten the Blues too much.

CENTER

Nazem Kadri, TOR vs. FLA ($12,800): Kadri has been hot, tallying 16 points in his last 12 contests. He's also put 33 shots on net in those games. The Panthers have allowed 34.7 shots on net per contest, which is second most in the league. Kadri also has 12 power-play points, and Florida has the 22nd-ranked penalty kill.

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. COL ($11,800): Since returning from a lengthy injury, Horvat has tallied five goals and five assists in 13 games. That gives him 30 points through 41 contests. Meanwhile, the Avalanche have a 3.48 team GAA on the road, which is bottom five in the NHL.

WING

Mikko Rantanen, COL at VAN ($12,300): Rantanen has started 57.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second most among Colorado forwards. He's also averaged 3:46 per contest with the extra man and notched 20 power-play points in 57 games. The Canucks have a 3.15 team GAA and have given up 32.2 shots on net per game. Vancouver also has the 23rd-ranked penalty kill.

Wayne Simmonds, PHI vs. MON ($11,400): Simmonds has hit the 20-goal mark for the fifth season in a row, and 10 of those goals have come with the extra man. In fact, he's averaged 3:28 per game on the power play, tallying 16 points total in 59 games. The Canadiens have the 26th-ranked penalty kill, so Simmonds could have more power-play success in this one. Montreal hasn't been much better defensively overall, as it has a 3.14 team GAA.

Kyle Palmieri, NJD vs. CLM ($10,800): Palmieri has averaged a career-high 2:50 per game on the power play and has tallied a whopping 13 points with the extra man through 40 games. The Blue Jackets have a 3.17 team GAA on the road and have also really struggled on the penalty kill (ranked 27th).

DEFENSEMEN

Torey Krug, BOS at EDM ($10,800): Krug has had at least 14 power-play points in his last four seasons, and this year he has 12 through 53 games. He's actually averaged a career-high 3:23 per game with the extra man, so there is arguably even more potential for success on the power play. This matchup behooves Krug particularly well, as the Oilers have the league's worst penalty kill.

Aaron Ekblad, FLA at TOR ($10,300): Ekblad has tallied eight points in his last seven games, including three on the power play. He's also put 149 shots on net through 56 games after notching 225 shots in 68 contests last season. The Maple Leafs have allowed 34.1 shots on goal per game, and after the All-Star break, that number is up to 36.6. That bodes well for Ekblad.
