Career-best stats in 2023
Reid racked up a career-best 95 tackles (74 solo), 3.0 sacks and one interception over 16 games during the 2023 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Reid thrived in his second season on the back end of Kansas City's defense, posting career-best numbers for tackles and sacks despite sitting out the regular-season finale. That said, Reid graded out as the No. 122 safety on PFF. In particular, he struggled in coverage (No. 141 overall). Even so, Reid has a solid history at the safety spot and statistical numbers that likely support keeping him for the final year of his contract in 2024.

Up to 215 pounds
Reid has bulked up to 215 pounds heading into the 2023 season, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Reid was listed at 203 pounds last season, but the safety made an effort to bulk up in the offseason to assist with his heavy tackling load. In his first year with the Chiefs last season, Reid registered 83 tackles, marking the third time in five NFL campaigns that he's logged at least that many.

2018
After spending his first four years as a pro with the Texans, Reid joined the Chiefs on a three-year, $31.5 million deal prior to the 2022 season. Reid lived up to the contract in his first year with the team, nearing his career high for tackles (88, set in his 2018 rookie season) by notching 83 stops, while adding a sack. The 26-year-old should operate in a similar role in 2023, though he'll need to familiarize himself with a new fellow starting safety in the wake of Juan Thornhill's departure in free agency.
