2024 Fantasy Outlook
A coach's dream, Schrader gives maximum effort at all times, but his general lack of athleticism caused him to go undrafted out of Missouri in 2024. The 49ers are the best possible landing spot for any running back, and if Schrader's strong pass-protection skills and ability to squeeze every yard out of a run earn him a roster spot, he could be the latest backfield success story for Kyle Shanahan. San Francisco's depth chart has more impressive specimens though, from Christian McCaffrey to 2024 fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo, so Schader has his work cut out for him. Read Past Outlooks
Intends to sign with San Francisco
Schrader is slated to sign with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Schrader had a mid-to-late-round draft grade from most analysts but somewhat surprisingly wasn't selected Saturday. Already 24 years old, Schrader walked on at Missouri after four years at Truman State. He was a bellcow back for the Tigers from 2022-23, amassing 446-2,372-23 on the ground and 41 catches for 328 scoreless yards. He led the SEC in rushing as a sixth-year senior last season. Schrader joins a backfield that includes Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, fourth-round rookie Isaac Guerendo and Patrick Taylor.

ANALYSIS
Schrader led the SEC in rushing with 1,627 yards at Missouri in 2023, and he added 14 touchdowns, showing he can thrive against tougher competition after starting his college career at Division II Truman State. His time at Truman State included a dominant 2,074-yard, 25-touchdown season on the ground in 2021. Schrader doesn't possess remarkable size or athleticism, as the 5-foot-8 running back ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine while weighing in at 202 pounds.
